What a great place for children of all ages! There are so many neat things to do here! I thought the price was very reasonable. While only drinks are available for purchase, there's an area outside where you can eat a picnic lunch.
We have been going here for the past year. My sons are now three and one. Both love going here. My three year old frequently begs to go to the "Kid's Museum" and whenever it is mentioned, the younger one claps. It is smaller compared to other Discovery/Children's Museums in larger cities, but it is great for a town the size of MP. Most of the indoor activities are situated in one big room. This makes supervision easier as the kids and go from station to station without me having to move with them and each kid can be in different areas and I can still keep an eye on them. There is plenty of seating for adults around each area. The areas are well maintained and staff frequently are walking around and reorganizing sections on busy days. The staff are great. My kids, and our kid's friends, all love the staff, who seem to genuinely enjoy being around kids. They recently have repainted and updated some of the areas and it is colorful and well done. The outside area is nice. They various areas with the popular areas being a gravel water play-cooking area and then a sand dinosaur digging pit. I wish they had a cleaning station outside to rinse the kids off to prevent paint and mud being taken inside on the way to the restrooms. The area is only in it's second year, so it might eventually happen.
Overall, it is a good way to spend a few hours in sunshine or rain. The weekly activities are also fun to go to and they have nightly events occasionally for adults only as well as open-late kids events (such as glow night). We have enjoyed and gotten much use out of our membership.
They have lots of plants so it feels a bit like a greenhouse in one of the areas. The infant area is good sized compared to some museums I have been to.
This place is the best. My family got a year long family pass during a Black Friday sale and it was a great investment. We bring our two year old here a couple of times a month and he finds something new to focus on every time we go. The staff is friendly, the exhibits are engaging, there is public wi-if and the air conditioning is blasting. It is a perfect place to hang out for a few hours when it is too hot to go to the park. Also, they have a family and kid friendly bathroom which is great for those who are potty training. Could not recommend this place more.
I brought my 9 year old and 10 month old here for the first time and they both had a great time. There are plenty of activities for kids of all ages. I hope they continue to add new exhibits to keep it fresh. We enjoyed the membership reciprocity this month with the Grand Rapids Public Museum, though it was only for this month.
Enjoyable for kids and adults. The staff are wonderful, the exhibits are fun for kids of all ages and adults. There's nothing else like it in Mt. Pleasant.
