Great food, awesome staff. A Must Visit when in Downtown Mount Pleasant.
If you are just visiting Mount Pleasant on business, are above the age of 30 and/or have kids with you then the bird is NOT the place for you. This is a college bar with more personality than most. The double sided bar is a nice touch and the service is generally better than most college bars. Prices are fair and there are cheap peanuts. Gets really crowded on weekends and some other nights. If you are looking for a place to let loose, meet some friends and engage in some college type festivities then this is your place. If you are looking for a quiet night with your significant other to have a few drinks and enjoy each others company then I recommend One Twenty South about a block away.
LOVE The Bird. A staple for CMU students and Mt Pleasant. Its just a great place to make friends. Friendly staff too. Food is good. It can take awhile to get a drink sometimes here, but that's okay, because The Bird is the word.
I love their burgers! It does get packed with the college crowd at night but it's not bad for lunch or an early dinner. Food prices are very reasonable.
A bar you would expect on the strip in Las Vegas or perched above the clouds in the Swiss Alps or built by oil money in Dubai. Possibly the greatest bar in the multi-verse
