Took several friends for a Christmas lunch. Truly a fun place. So many choices on the wall type menu. Soups were delicious.

Visiting from out of town, we came to Max & Emily’s for lunch on Saturday. The place has a small town vibe. It was fairly busy, but we were able to dine in. It’s a sandwich and soup shop - with a LOT to pick from. You order at the register and then they call your name when the order is ready. (Similar to a Panera feel that way.) I got a #99 grilled cheese - the cream cheese really set it apart. I dipped it in a cup of the roasted red pepper and Gouda soup. Superb! We also got a #63 fiery turkinator. It was classically good - along with the chicken and dumpling soup - everything you’d expect from a good soup and sandwich combo. It was a little pricey but we left full and glad with the choice in a small town we’re unfamiliar with. Grabbed a chocolate chip cookie on my way out. $1.25, huge, good - do it.

Breakfast may be a different beast entirely, but for those prices (I paid somewhere around $11-13 for each meal), you can find many better dinners, and for my money, I would actually prefer Jimmy John's next door for sandwiches.

Great downtown ambience. Huge variety of sandwiches that are better than most places! Good Cookie

EDIT: Breakfast is definitely better, loved the BYOB, several dollars cheaper too. Desserts remain mediocre at that time though.

I've eaten here twice now for dinner on recommendations and both times was disappointed. I received some sort of crescent sandwich a few weeks back and today ate a Philly steak. Both were fine, but i thought relatively bland and no real taste of note. I also had a chocolate chip cookie and a cinnamon roll respectively with the meals for dessert, the cookie was good, but the cinnamon role was pretty mediocre compared to what you can get for $.75 at Meijer.

This is just a cool local Deli. Foods always good. Soups good. Service is super. A tad pricey.

The staff were exemplary and courteous. Certainly above average.
