Pretty sketchy pricing if you ask me. Is it normal for them to charge $700 to clear your main sewer line and then leave the basement a mess?

I called yesterday to make an appointment for my clogged sink. I gave the woman a brief description of what was going on and she barely paid attention to what was I was saying, but hey people get busy and I understand so I didn't think that much of it. They scheduled me for a window from 8-12 today! Sounds great but I had to take off of work so I can be here for the 4 hour wait. About 11:30 I call to ask if Anyone was coming or close to coming to my home. They inform me that a tech wouldn't be there for a few more hours and that they are backed up! I understand that life happens but I did not receive any notice of this and if I wouldn't have called I would have been waiting till 12:30 and then would have been late returning to work. I'm extremely disappointed and all the girl on the phone had to say was "this stuff happens". I have worked in customer service for 8 years now and this is some of the worst customer service I have experienced in years.

I would avoid this company at all costs and use another plumbing company. Fortunately I was able to see through them before I spent any money. The Lady on the phone was nice and said when the guy came out he would run a camera for free and tell me what the problem was. I must say they were good about making sure I was home before sending someone out but that is where the good stopped. They never ran a camera anywhere. When the guy arrived he was nice enough and walked into my bathroom and took one look at the water in my toilet and said "oh we need to snake the system from the house to the septic, that is your issue" and proceeded to give me a price for that so he could make a sale ASAP. Well I had spent the better part of 2 weeks verifying there was no clogs in the house so I let him know that and I told him I was leaning toward the problem being from the septic tank to the drain field since the tank was draining slowly but he would have started snaking the house immediately if I let him without doing any real diagnosis of the real issue. I then proceeded to take him out and show him the water level in the septic tank and he said "Oh" that's your issue the drain field pipe needs hydro flushed without doing any real diagnosis on why the field wasn't draining. I was game for that because I knew the issue was that the water didn't seem to be draining into the drain field so I had wondered about a root clog in the line. He said that would be about $750 dollars and said he could get someone out today and I said if that will take care of the issue let's do it. He went back to his truck and returned with a new figure of $1200 with no real explanation of why the price went up and said I would need to have my septic tank pumped again (Just did it 2 weeks ago) before they could start the work. I said to myself I am smelling a skunk and told him I would not be using their service afterwards because I said no reason for a sudden $500 increase and was told there was a 50\50 chance it would fix the problem. I am like are you serious you what me to give you $1200 and you are not even sure the solution you have will fix the problem. It felt I was a fish on the line being taken for whatever they could get. After Mr Rooter left I called the guy who put in the field, who is a very honest person, and told him about my experience and he came out and looked everything over. He said he doubted it was the line to the field but it was possible and that the easy way to know for sure was to switch to the second field and see if sewer water comes rushing out to the 2nd field. I mentioned to the Mr Rooter guy I had a smaller field I could use but I preferred to stick with the larger field if he was sure it was a line problem. I was having problems turning the switch to change fields so my septic installer helped me get that accomplished. The Mr. Rooter guy didn't hesitate to sell me the service with no suggestion we check the line first. I was told by the lady on the phone diagnosis was free. There was no diagnosis of the line just a service offered to flush the lines without even suggestion we verify the field was working first and again with a 50/50 guarantee it would fix the issue. Anyways when the septic installer and I switched the line the water rushed to the second field proving the real issue was a saturated field and not the line and it felt great to know my issue was fixed. He suggested I now switch the fields periodically to avoid future issues. Mr Rooter would have gladly taken my money and run to flush a line that wasn't clogged and even flooded my bigger field worse than it was. When I told my septic installer what I almost paid I felt embarrassed that I almost literally threw $775 - $1200 down the drain. It appears to me they are happy to sell you a service whether you need it or not and if that doesn't work we will try the next thing. My septic installer didn't charge me anything for his advice and help so I will definitely look to him and recommend his services to others but I cannot recommend Mr. Rooter to anyone.

Not good so far! Someone was suppose to be at my house yesterday afternoon, and around 5 I got a call saying they had to reschedule for 11 am the next day. At 11:30 today no call no show! I called, and they said there is actually a 2 hour window and it could be 1pm when they show. 2pm still no call no show!!! I just called again, and they apologized and said the guy is busy. WOW! You must have to take a week off to wait for MR Rooter. I can't wait to see how much they charge; there customer service seems great....sarcasm!

Never again will we go with me rooter of mod Michigan due to their quote of $561, then it went down to $170 then after job is done, it magically went back up to $561? Fixed one fitting in the bathroom and my husband had to rip out the wall himself. Why does he get to do the work and we still pay a ridiculous price
