I feel the department of human services can do much better on a state level; in contrast, the location away from most everything else is sort of smart and in other ways stupid.
They always do things without giving any notice until last minute or just plain don't tell you. They never answer their phones and it's a ridiculous amount of effort to try and get them to call you back so you can speak with them. Very rude case workers and supervisors, they treat you like you're frauding the system when you and your family genuinely need help and for a place that is meant to help people at their lowest points, they sure like to kick you down and make you jump through every hoop to get the help you need. No one wants to be on assistance, trust me. Especially having to put up with these people and their games.
Called for days no one picks up the phone even called my case worker says I make 2800.00 a month and I make barely make 1700, why is no one ver picking up their phone
i believe in justice .
I contacted this DHS office in March of this year to help me with an error that was made which suspended my health insurance benefits. As a type 1 diabetic, I didn't learn about this suspension until I was filling a prescription for my insulin. I spoke with a woman initially who was very helpful in redirecting my call and getting my contact information to resolve my issue as fast as possible. She told me to call back if I was unable to get in touch with anyone she forwarded me to. She was amazing and I commend her customer service skills and empathy. However, upon calling back I could only get in touch with a young man who seemed completely unwilling to do anything to help me, to redirect me to anyone, or even let me speak with the operator I had previously contacted. I remember trying to explain that this was quickly becoming a hazardous situation for my health, and my voice trembling because I was so anxious and scared, and this man being annoyed with my phone call and telling me "Im not going to do that" to any suggestion I made. This was the worst experience I have ever had with any person in my 25 years, and I now travel hours away to a different DHS to never have to deal with that person again.
In this organization they just try to cut your benefits and they treat you like liars! no respect for people's honor and dignity! humiliation on phone! their case workers most hate you for trying to get benefits from the government! they don't care if you need help!they will treat you like parasites after few weeks on benefit! shameful ! i just wish someone does the same to them and their families as they did to poor innocent people!
